He started playing for Grandoli, a local club coached by his dad.
1995 we changed to Newell’s Old Boys.
Since 2000 he plays for the FC Barcelona, he moved with his family to Spain, because Barca noticed him and signed him.

His first senior goal, he made against Albacete Balompié on 1 May 2005.
He plays since 2005 for the Argentine national team, started with the U20.
Since 2005, he plays as well for the first Argentine national team.
Leo has since 2007 a foundation called Leo Messi Foundation.
He is learning English at the moment.

His cousin plays as well football, but at FC Girona.
